Elly + Sam | Lochnagar + Cecil Peak | Queenstown Micro Wedding
Elly and Sam had a change of direction for their wedding, from an Italian affair at Lake Como to a Micro Wedding in Queenstown. Thanks to that all too familiar song we've all heard now, Covid-19. But, lucky for us, Elly and Sam were the sweetest and funnest couple who took everything in their stride and came on board to create an epic celebration in the mountains with their best friends!
We started the day at the incredible Lakehouse Joela, managed by Relax It's Done. The stunning property hosted Elly and Sam's intimate wedding party including their best friends, as well as showing off some seriously good views right from the balcony. The girls were able to hang out on the main floor while the boys had a grand time on the lower floor, getting ready separately but at the same house, which made everything super smooth for our photo and video team.
Elly's best friends were on hand to help with her stunning dress, veil, cute winter socks and epic snow boots while the boys enjoyed some whisky on the rocks. With everyone ready, it was time to get in the chopper and head out to Lochnagar for the First Look and ceremony. Elly walked up to tap Sam on the shoulder on the shoreline, with their crew of mates watching on from higher up on the beach. After a few sweet moments, we got into the ceremony and there wasn't a single dry eye in the house! The two sweethearts shared beautiful words with each other and vòila! A First Kiss, lots of hugs and it was time to crack into the champers!
While their friends headed back to Lakehouse Joela, Elly, Sam and their maid of honour and best man continued to a second mountain landing at The Ridge on Cecil Peak for some more laughs, adventure and champagne. We had some gorgeous light and the tiniest of breezes meant that Elly could show off her gorgeous fur from Makarora Fur Co to help keep her cosy.
Arriving back on the ground, it was time for some cheese and antipasti at the villa before heading to the Pacific Jemm by Eichardts for an unforgettable dinner and sunset cruise around the lake. What a way to finish the perfect day!

Sian + Allan | The Ledge + Vanguard Peak | Winter Mountain Wedding
Sian and Allan got in touch with us in late June to chat about a winter Mountain Wedding... Before we all knew it, July rolled around and in three weeks we had everything organised for a gorgeous wedding that month! After playing the long game (says Allan) and a sweet date to an Angus & Julia Stone concert (says Sian), these two knew they had found their other half. So a few years later, with a beautiful collection of memories and milestones under their belt, eloping was the answer to the next chapter they had been waiting to start, after Covid-19 derailed the pair's original wedding plans due to the nationwide lockdown in March and April.
Aside from the mountains being a totally epic place to get married, the timing couldn't have been better with Sian & Allan's spontaneous decision to turn their skiing holiday into a winter wedding. Having a few close friends in town also meant they could have two of their own witnesses plus a babysitter for their little girl, Pippa, while they were up in the mountains.
After a sweet First Look at The Nugget Hotel in Arthur's Point, we set off for the adventure. Our first stop was The Ledge on Cecil Peak for the ceremony overlooking the lake, plus some insane on-the-edge photo opportunities. Sian wore a totally stunning Grace Loves Lace dress with boots and a fur - essential accessories for a winter wedding! We had a fairly brisk wind that helped Sian's veil dance in the wind while kept everyone on their toes and eager for warm cuddles on the chilly mountaintop. Next up, we headed to Vanguard Peak for some more serious snow and mountains that go as far as the eye can see! We were treated to some beautiful light and it was a joy to see Sian and Alan soak up the mountain air and each other. They totally braved the chilly conditions and even had an impromptu dance-off in the falling snow (that we threw at them...)!
Congratulations again, Mr and Mrs Shaw! 😍 Thank you so much for asking us to be a part of your day and we wish you both plenty of love, laughter and success for your futures together xx

Julia + Shane | Cecil Peak Queenstown | Autumn Elopement
Julia and Shane's autumn elopement in Queenstown was such a gorgeous celebration. April is one of our absolute favourite months in Queenstown because with it comes autumn leaves, crisp mornings and soft, golden sunlight. Julia and Shane booked their elopement over 12 months in advance as they had seen the magic of autumn in Queenstown and dreamed of something similar for their special day. But the change of season can also bring more unsettled weather, so when the forecast showed strong gusty winds for Julia and Shane, we had to talk about a plan B, just in case.
Luckily for us, fortune favours the bold and Julia and Shane are certainly a couple to be reckoned with! The day turned out unbelievably gorgeous for these two and the rustling wind only added to the beautiful, fun and carefree energy they radiated. We started the day with a First Look before heading down for some photos in the afternoon light – first at the lakefront and then in a lovely grove of autumn trees. Steph from Orange Blossom Designs had created a stunning autumn-inspired bouquet for Julia with oranges, reds, browns plus some dried elements and a pheasant feather.
We then head off for our golden hour flight with two dear friends of Julia and Shane's acting as witnesses. After a sweet and personal ceremony crafted by Philippa Thomas, the two newly-weds popped some bubbles and ambled their way across the long grass for some epic lake views and rocky outcrops. Their best friends gifted the newly-wedded pair some pounamu jewellery, which made for a truly special moment after all that adventure.
Congratulations again Julia and Shane, you did it!! Wishing nothing but love, luck and happiness to you both - keep rocking out to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and doing your thing!! xx

Queenstown Helicopter Elopement | Justine + Wes
Justine and Wes call Canada home but decided to celebrate their wedding with a beautiful New Zealand elopement and honeymoon all combined into one. Self-described introverts, a big wedding was never on their bucket list, so after Justine herself proposed (yas!), the research began. With an incredible helicopter elopement, trips to Doubtful Sounds, beautiful walks, loads of delicious cafes and restaurants... We think that's a pretty epic way to celebrate!
Battling a few flight delays and arriving into Queenstown literally hours before their wedding, Justine and Wes were stoked to be marrying each other and adventuring in the mountains! Some epic moody clouds and a bit of a breeze made for a beautiful backdrop and sweet movement in the layers of Justine's dress. First, we headed to The Remarkables for a ceremony overlooking the lake and some of those iconic, jaw-dropping moments with two little people and the expansive mountains! Next, we flew over to Cecil Peak for more rugged mountains and some fun checking out the impressive rock formations below the Garden Spur. Donning a hoodie and warming up in the chopper, Justine and Wes signed the paperwork that made it all official.
Congratulations again, Justine and Wes!! We admired your determination to get here and pull everything off, flight cancellations and all! Wishing you all the best for your next adventures together xx

The Best Queenstown Wedding | Candace + Anthony
Candace and Anthony had the best Queenstown wedding adventure! Okay...so, we're a little biased here, but it was Warren's little sister's wedding! We were stoked when they told us they wanted to plan an intimate wedding in Queenstown with just their immediate families. And even more happy and honoured to help look after the planning and photography of their day.
Candace and Anthony chose to have their wedding ceremony at Chapel by the Lake, Stoneridge Estate. It was the perfect combination of beautiful gardens, an awesome lake/mountain view and the summer vibes with blue skies and bees buzzing around. Shortly afterwards, it was time to share our adventure lifestyle around, so we jumped on a much-anticipated chopper ride! We flew across to Lake Erskine in the Fiordland National Park, and then had a second landing on The Ridge at Cecil Peak.
Once the newly-weds were back at ground level, we joined the rest of the family celebrating the afternoon away with lawn games and drinks. Afterwards, we had a delicious dinner in the cosy Board Room. Watching the sun go down and light up the picture window was mesmerising, and before long the fire lanterns around Stoneridge Estate were lit for that extra touch of magic.
One month later, we headed over to their home on the other side of the ditch...Melbourne, Australia. Candace and Anthony had a wedding party with their friends and extended Aussie family back home, which was a fantastic wedding combination: An intimate destination wedding plus an epic rager back home. 😆
Congrats!!
Congratulations again, Candace and Anthony! We were so thrilled to be involved in your wedding day and we honestly find a new favourite photo every time we reminisce on that gorgeous summer's day. Thanks for being awesome and letting us share our slice of the world with you both. We love you both and know that you will have an incredible and joyful year ahead, with a new kind of adventure. 🥰 xx
A special shout out to the legends of the Queenstown wedding industry that came together to help us create Candace and Anthony's perfect day.

Queenstown Elopement Package | Katie + Paul
Katie and Paul came across our Queenstown elopement packages as they were researching eloping from the UK. We had a sweet First Look and some photos with their gorgeous little one, Esme, at their Air BnB in Dalefield. With an expansive field overlooking Coronet Peak, there was plenty of space to have the chopper call in and pick us up! Shortly afterwards we were arriving at the serene Lake Erskine to officially get Katie and Paul hitched. Their ceremony had beautiful, personal vows and also included a water blessing, using the pure alpine water from Lake Erskine itself.
Afterwards, we adventured around the rocky platform looking out to Fiordland before hanging out by the lake again. We also had some Kea visit us, and the beautiful Mount Cook daisies in bloom at Lake Erskine. With a second landing at The Ledge, we popped some champagne and enjoyed the late afternoon sunlight. Heading back to the Air BnB, we had to make the most of golden hour in the paddocks! Katie and Paul jumped on some massive hay bales and danced around in the golden grass - a very happy way to finish their wedding day!
A big big congratulations to you both, Katie and Paul! We loved being a part of your Queenstown elopement and meeting your adorable family! Thank you for spending the day with us and we wish you the absolute best for your bright futures ahead 💕 xx

Queenstown Elopement Package | Kat + Aaron
Kat and Aaron decided to hop on a plane and jet over from Canberra to get hitched with a Queenstown elopement package transformed into an intimate wedding.
Bucking tradition and instead aiming for a chill day with some epic photos, Kat and Aaron decided to charter three helicopters up to Cecil Peak with friends and family. Afterwards, they would head off to some extra mountain locations for their own adventure as newly-weds. With weather coming in hot (read: wet and windy), we needed to divert our plans and stay closer to Queenstown. After Cecil Peak we headed for Earnslaw Burn and a snowy Vanguard Peak, which are both slightly more sheltered but just as epic!
Kat had a stunning Rosa Gown from Grace Loves Lace and a gorgeous spring-style bouquet, which looked stunning against the soft spring snow we had for the ceremony at Cecil Peak. Aaron himself looked very dapper in navy suit and bowtie.
With recent rain in Earnslaw Burn, there were a dozen waterfalls cascading off the cliffs around the valley. Gilkison Falls itself was roaring next to us and kicking up plenty of mist around us. The views out to Earnslaw Burn and en route to Vanguard Peak were magnificent. Fresh snow coated the mountains and valleys, turning our backyard into something out of Game of Thrones. After what some could say was a legendary champagne pop on Vanguard Peak, we had some more fun in the snow. Kat and Aaron brought a cute sign to later share the happy news with extended friends and family back home.
Congratulations again Kat and Aaron! We had so much fun and still chuckle when we reminisce of Aaron's champagne pop, haha! You both rock and we hope you are enjoying newly married life :) xx

New Zealand Elopement | Icy + Jiachen
Icy and Jiachen travelled from China to Queenstown for their gorgeous New Zealand Elopement. They were joined by their parents, as we organised a second helicopter to enjoy the mountain top ceremony on Cecil Peak, shortly before sunset.
Icy had a large bouquet, featuring some of our favourite flowers - including the protea, dahlias and some toetoe for softening. Whilst Jiachen, had a large boutonnière.
It was pretty windy, but we found some shelter behind some rocks along the ridge. There was also some end of season snow around, which is always a load of fun! Once back to the warmth of their accommodation, Icy and Jiachen popped some champagne to celebrate, before they went off to a nice dinner in town.
Congrats again Icy and Jiachen - we loved being a part of your Queenstown wedding xx

Queenstown Helicopter Wedding | Bettina + Joe
Bettina and Joe married on a windswept afternoon on the ever-popular The Ledge on Cecil Peak. Bettina and Joe brought along their 9-month-old son Jimmy and a couple of good friends to witness their Queenstown destination wedding. Jimmy had the cutest snow-suit onesie and did a great job in warming up the wedding rings and looking so sweet!
We had windy but gorgeous conditions and everyone did an exceptional job at keeping warm while looking great. We were lucky to also have some snow on the mountain, a perfect excuse for a snow fight and for Betty to pop on her lovely coat.
Thanks Bettina and Joe for the adventure and congrats to you both again xx

The Ledge Heli Wedding Queenstown | Jenny + Karl
Jenny & Karl travelled down from Auckland for their Queenstown heli wedding earlier this month. They got engaged a year ago, in Cardrona, whilst on a snowboarding holiday, so it was a perfect excuse to elope down here on the mountains.
We started with a first look nearby to the Heritage Hotel, where they got ready. Jenny & Karl then spent some time down on a beautiful beach, overlooking Cecil Peak, where we were soon to fly to.
After we landed, the wind picked up and quickly the clouds and lighting changed, which resulted in some incredible shooting conditions. Beautiful crespecular rays could be seen just before we left Cecil Peak, so we grabbed the flash and with the assistance of our pilot Paul, took some final shots.
Congratulations Jenny + Karl! xx
