Julia + Dylan | The Remarkables | Queenstown Wedding

Julia and Dylan's elopement wedding at the Remarkables in Queenstown was the breath-taking "plan B" after the C-word made them re-think their original big wedding plans. A surprise elopement was much more "them" so we set off to plan an awesome day around the mountains.

Julia and Dylan had both their parents join them for part of their holiday, staying at the picturesque Kinross Cottages in Gibbston Valley for the ultimate wedding-moon (that also allows fur-babies to come and stay!). We had a totally beautiful and sweet ceremony on the lakeside, with pretty much 360 degree views of the mountains all around us. With both sets of their parents involved, the Dad's both shared special readings during the ceremony that were a testament to what marriage is and how to stick together by being each other's best friends - silly, serious and supportive.

After we hung out on the beach, we whisked just the newly-weds up to Double Cone on The Remarkables for some epic views and soft powdery snow. Julia's Sally Eagle gown was gorgeous in the mountain light and made for some beautiful flowing photos up on the ridgeline. We had to get up close to the snow and ended up having a pretty epic snowball fight where Julia accidentally morphed into a baby Yoda when she fell waist deep in the snow with a blanket around her shoulders! But it was definitely worth it as one of our favourite snow-fetti photos came out of all that soft snow, glittering around the lovebirds as the sunlight shone through.

Congratulations again, Julia and Dylan! We had so much fun hanging out with you both - you were absolute champions up on the mountain and we are so so happy to have welcomed you into the Six60 fan club! We hope your futures are filled with loads more love, laughter, adventures and concerts xx

Allison + Sean | Vanguard Peak Elopement | Queenstown Wedding

Allison and Sean are both originally from the USA but found themselves relocated to New Zealand for work earlier this year - and how fortunate, given the relative freedoms, health and beautiful landscape they have been able to enjoy in our corner of the world compared to their home! Being "stranded" in New Zealand for the near future and having been planning for a big family wedding in the USA, the two lovebirds decided to change tact and plan an elopement wedding in Queenstown, instead.

Tucked into the hillsides of Gibbston Valley, Allison and Sean stayed at Kinross with its boutique wine cellar, sweet family of ducks, blossom trees and vineyards pretty much meaning we had everything at the ready for a gorgeous day from the get-go. Allison and Sean decided to get ready together before we went for a wee stroll around the property to capture some of the beauty of their holiday. Next, we hopped in a chopper to head over to Vanguard Peak and get them married! With the sun shining, powdery snow and light cloud adding fluffy texture to the sky it was a gorgeous combination! Andy led a super sweet and personal ceremony for them before we were witness to adorable (and slightly geeky!) vows, honouring the amazing commitment Allison and Sean wanted to make to each other.

Afterwards, we meandered along the mountains and admired the misty cloud rolling in, played in the snow and whipped out their cute wedding-themed Covid masks for some novel photos. With a little time up our sleeves and a gorgeous sunset looming afterwards, we stopped by Lake Hayes to capture a few last photos with the golden light, looking back over across the landscape to Coronet Peak and Vanguard Peak.

Congratulations again, Allison and Sean! It was such an honour to meet you both and we loved being a part of your special day. Thank you for trusting us and having the best time adventuring and celebrating!! xx

Rachel + Kelvin | The Remarkables | Queenstown Micro Wedding

Rach and Kelvin planned their Micro Wedding in Queenstown as a spur of the moment decision when they were heading this way for a snowboarding trip. After having to cancel their 120-person wedding earlier in the year due to the nationwide lockdown, they didn't want to wait any longer before getting married! With their best friends and siblings alongside them, we had a gorgeous intimate ceremony on the shores of Lake Wakatipu with our friend Andy Bell leading a gorgeous ceremony that was live-streamed by Shotover Wedding Films to friends and family at home around the country.

After the ceremony, we stole Rach and Kelv away and shot up to Double Cone on The Remarkables for some fun in the snow and seriously epic photos. We had some misty cloud rolling in and out that added to the drama of the landscapes. Although Kelv was missing his snowboard, we had an awesome time popping champagne and throwing snow around.

Congratulations again, you two amazing humans! We were so happy to be involved in your special day and wish you and your family all the love and adventure in the world! xx

Martika + Rich | Queensberry Album

Martika & Richard planned an incredible adventure with us in Queenstown after their original plans for a family wedding in Australia were disrupted due to Covid-19. Instead, we helicoptered to two amazing mountain locations before heading out again after dark for some photos under the stars. Afterwards, we created a new studio sample album to showcase Queensberry's new Fine-Art inkjet printing and the stunning panoramic spreads that it can achieve. The inkjet printing has a fantastically vibrant and detailed colour payoff, while being smooth to touch with a soft and delicate finish.

We created for a 14x10" Flushmount Album with Fine Art paper and a 10" parent copy that is a beautiful and generous size to share with family. The finished albums are breath-taking and always a favourite to show to our couples, displaying the highest level of quality that Queensberry always deliver.

Some of the finer details:

14x10" Queensberry Flushmount Album with 1x 10" parent copies

Fine Art paper stock for a lightly textured but rich matte finish

Genuine vintage leather with the "Havana" finish

Cover names blind embossed in the script "Windsong"

You can check out the full blogpost from Martika & Richard's wedding here! A very big thank you to Queensberry for creating this keepsake for us.

Martika + Rich | Winter Wedding Adventure

Martika and Rich first contacted us in July looking for a winter wedding adventure in Queenstown, after having to make changes to their original wedding plans in Australia. Luckily for us and them, we had a freaking awesome day that included two gorgeous landings, a starry-night shoot, CAKE plus heaps of good times!

These two are full of beans, laughter and light up every new place they visit together. When we heard that Martika announced "that was awkward" at their first kiss - a hot, crowded tube station in London - we knew we were in for some fun and lucky to be a part of their special day. Rich had even made a custom comic book based on their relationship for their sweet proposal, which was brought along to hold their vows on their wedding day.

Martika had a totally stunning arrangement of flowers by Steph at Orange Blossom Designs and combined with her gold Timberlands (yes, your read that right!), sweet headband and her beautiful embroidered gown, she looked like an absolute Queen. Rich wasn't too bad himself, looking pretty dapper in an Overcheck suit with a bowtie. We also had a mountain-inspired cake to celebrate with on the mountain, created by Melissa of Cherry Blossom Cakes.

With a first landing at Coromandel Peak, which was looking impeccably still and glassy, we had their ceremony, cake and an adventure down to the iconic lookout itself. We even had a paraglider drop in to say hello for a couple minutes before running and jumping off the side of the mountain! From there, we headed to Vanguard Peak for some fun in the snow and to watch as the sun lowered over the mountains and lit up the sky! We continued with the celebrations with a champagne shower and plenty of fun throwing snow around. Martika and Rich then headed to dinner (a delicious wedding dinner at Botswana Butchery - we're jealous!) before we picked them up to head out again once the sky was dark. We were so lucky to have the skies clear up after some low cloud had creeped in at sunset, so we made the most of it and captured a few different angles and perspectives of the newly-married couple with the stars above.

Congratulations again, Martika and Rich!!! We had the most incredible day and wish you both all of the love, luck, laughter and adventure for all your years ahead 🌟❤️

Elly + Sam | Lochnagar + Cecil Peak | Queenstown Micro Wedding

Elly and Sam had a change of direction for their wedding, from an Italian affair at Lake Como to a Micro Wedding in Queenstown. Thanks to that all too familiar song we've all heard now, Covid-19. But, lucky for us, Elly and Sam were the sweetest and funnest couple who took everything in their stride and came on board to create an epic celebration in the mountains with their best friends!

We started the day at the incredible Lakehouse Joela, managed by Relax It's Done. The stunning property hosted Elly and Sam's intimate wedding party including their best friends, as well as showing off some seriously good views right from the balcony. The girls were able to hang out on the main floor while the boys had a grand time on the lower floor, getting ready separately but at the same house, which made everything super smooth for our photo and video team.

Elly's best friends were on hand to help with her stunning dress, veil, cute winter socks and epic snow boots while the boys enjoyed some whisky on the rocks. With everyone ready, it was time to get in the chopper and head out to Lochnagar for the First Look and ceremony. Elly walked up to tap Sam on the shoulder on the shoreline, with their crew of mates watching on from higher up on the beach. After a few sweet moments, we got into the ceremony and there wasn't a single dry eye in the house! The two sweethearts shared beautiful words with each other and vòila! A First Kiss, lots of hugs and it was time to crack into the champers!

While their friends headed back to Lakehouse Joela, Elly, Sam and their maid of honour and best man continued to a second mountain landing at The Ridge on Cecil Peak for some more laughs, adventure and champagne. We had some gorgeous light and the tiniest of breezes meant that Elly could show off her gorgeous fur from Makarora Fur Co to help keep her cosy.

Arriving back on the ground, it was time for some cheese and antipasti at the villa before heading to the Pacific Jemm by Eichardts for an unforgettable dinner and sunset cruise around the lake. What a way to finish the perfect day!

Marg + Emil | Lochnagar + Vanguard Peak | Queenstown Winter Wedding

Marg & Emil decided on a winter wedding in Queenstown to celebrate their marriage and have a sweet holiday all in one. We had a sweet First Look at the patio of their accommodation before heading off to our helicopter adventure.

With snow-capped mountains and gorgeous clear waters, Lochnagar set an idyllic scene for the two to be married, with Marg's sister as witness and the mountains watching on. The conditions were mild with the sun shining down on us, whilst a small breeze on the lake ruffled the water up enough to make the light glimmer and show off the colours even more. After some exploring around the rocky outcrops and beach front at Lochnagar, we headed on to Vanguard Peak for a second landing in the snow. Here, we were treated to 360 degree views to choose from, though the sun-drenched valley we had just flown in from was a winner. A perfect opportunity for popping some champagne and throwing some snow, before it was time to jump back in the chopper and head back to Queenstown for Marg & Emil's wedding dinner with more friends.

Marg had a gorgeous knee-length dress with golden fabric covered in glittered leaves and a stunning pair of Valentino studded heels to match. Marg also had the prettiest collection of delicate jewellery to add to her look, layering necklaces and dainty earrings with total style. Sarah from The Flower Room created the most delicious bouquet in pinks and lilacs that tied the whole look together and of course that white fur jacket came in very handy on the breezy mountain. (And don't worry, Marg changed into a pair of sneakers to walk in the snow!!) Emil equally had plenty of style, with a Louis Vuitton belt, navy suit and lilac tie that complemented the couple's style to a T.

Congratulations again, Marg and Emil! We were so happy to meet you both and help you get married, and loved just how much you embraced the day, each other and the landscapes. Wishing you both plenty of love, laughter and adventure for all your years ahead xx

Sian + Allan | The Ledge + Vanguard Peak | Winter Mountain Wedding

Sian and Allan got in touch with us in late June to chat about a winter Mountain Wedding... Before we all knew it, July rolled around and in three weeks we had everything organised for a gorgeous wedding that month! After playing the long game (says Allan) and a sweet date to an Angus & Julia Stone concert (says Sian), these two knew they had found their other half. So a few years later, with a beautiful collection of memories and milestones under their belt, eloping was the answer to the next chapter they had been waiting to start, after Covid-19 derailed the pair's original wedding plans due to the nationwide lockdown in March and April.

Aside from the mountains being a totally epic place to get married, the timing couldn't have been better with Sian & Allan's spontaneous decision to turn their skiing holiday into a winter wedding. Having a few close friends in town also meant they could have two of their own witnesses plus a babysitter for their little girl, Pippa, while they were up in the mountains.

After a sweet First Look at The Nugget Hotel in Arthur's Point, we set off for the adventure. Our first stop was The Ledge on Cecil Peak for the ceremony overlooking the lake, plus some insane on-the-edge photo opportunities. Sian wore a totally stunning Grace Loves Lace dress with boots and a fur - essential accessories for a winter wedding! We had a fairly brisk wind that helped Sian's veil dance in the wind while kept everyone on their toes and eager for warm cuddles on the chilly mountaintop. Next up, we headed to Vanguard Peak for some more serious snow and mountains that go as far as the eye can see! We were treated to some beautiful light and it was a joy to see Sian and Alan soak up the mountain air and each other. They totally braved the chilly conditions and even had an impromptu dance-off in the falling snow (that we threw at them...)!

Congratulations again, Mr and Mrs Shaw! 😍 Thank you so much for asking us to be a part of your day and we wish you both plenty of love, laughter and success for your futures together xx

Jocelyn + Matt | The Remarkables | Queenstown Intimate Wedding

Jocelyn and Matt decided to have an intimate wedding with chill, laid back and sweet vibes. That's where the most beautiful place in the world plus two helicopters comes into it - it's pretty epic, loads of fun and we look after all of the details so you don't have to worry about anything!

With best friends and close family, the only thing missing were the beloved fur-babies (we swear, it's the only downside to eloping!)...but they are sure to have had the best cuddles since being reunited with their fur-rents a few days later. Jocelyn and Matt also lucked out with the most incredible weather: blue skies, sunshine and pretty mild temperatures as far as winter goes. Adopting our advice, Jocelyn and Matt were prepared with Doc Martens, plenty of layers and a beautiful fur blanket for the mountain breeze.

After some family photos down at the lakefront, we headed up in convoy to The Remarkables for an epic mountaintop ceremony. With crunchy snow to play in and sweeping views out to the lake and mountains, there was plenty of exploring to do. We had some awesome light coming through for snowfetti and epic snowdrift when the helicopters took off at the end of the adventure.

A big congrats from us again, Jocelyn and Matt! We hope you had the best day and re-live your adventure as often as possible! Wishing you all the best for your futures together - lots of love, heaps of laughter and plenty of downtime to enjoy your reading and games xx

Sam + Camille | Lochnagar | Queenstown Winter Elopement

Sam and Camille decided to elope after following our adventures on Instagram for a little while! Being a photographer herself, Sam knew that she wanted to avoid the drama and stress that often comes with planning a big celebration. She then set to work convincing Camille of the same idea, using photos of the incredible scenery that they would get to experience, while just having the two most important people there: each other. Having been best friends and sweethearts for years and about to head into new careers, they decided that there was no better time than right now! Or at least, pretty soon...once the country came out of lockdown and domestic travel opened back up!

We headed to the beautiful Lochnagar, which is a winter favourite while our friend Lake Erskine is icy and frozen over during the same time of year. We had such calm weather that there was hardly a whisper of wind on the lake, making the surface beautifully glassy and showing off the most amazing reflections. It's fair to say that Sam and Camille were pretty delighted!!! After sharing some super sweet vows with each other, Camille paid tribute to their Jewish heritage by breaking glass before sealing the deal with their First Kiss.

From Lochnagar, we then flew to Vanguard Peak for some fun in the snow! The sun was setting amidst growing layers of cloud, making for a beautifully lit valley with scores of mountains either side. Braving the cold (we are lucky to still have use of our fingers!), the two headed out to a dramatic rocky outcrop before getting stuck into a snow fight. It's pretty much obligatory!! Sunset was upon us as we flew back to Queenstown and it was amazing to soak up the changing colours on the mountains as our adventure was coming to an end.

Congratulations again, Sam and Camille! It was so completely wonderful to meet you both and we are so happy for you! We hope you are still reading plenty of books and treasuring lots of cuddles with Tux. Lots of love and luck for your beautiful futures together xx
